Marc Jacobs Beauty Air Blush Soft Glow Duo Review
Saturday, September 03, 2016So Influenster just sent me another VoxBox for testing purposes, and this time around I got the opportunity to try out Marc Jacobs' Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in the shade Kink & Kisses! Although I have tried blushes from brands like Too Faced, this was my first time trying something from a more expensive brand like Marc Jacobs Beauty. I was nervous to say the least, but I really think I have found my new go-to blush!
Here is what Influenster sent me!
I really love the packaging because it is stylish, sleek, and compact. It really feels so nice in your hands and is definitely sturdy enough to keep in your purse in case you need to touch up your makeup later on in the day. According to the Sephora website, the packaging for this blush was inspired by the style and sleekness of vintage cigarette cases, which definitely adds to the retro charm.
This is in the shade 504 Kink & Kisses
Pros:
-Super blendable, easy-to-work-with formula
-Long-lasting
-You are in control of how pigmented you want the color to be
-Sleek, compact packaging
-Extremely natural-looking
Cons:
-Pricey
-Doesn't come with a brush/applicator
Rating:
9/10
Bottom Line:
Overall, I am extremely pleased with this product! (≧◡≦) ♡ The fact that there are two different shades in this product allows you to create so many different looks. If you are looking for a more sheer, natural daytime look, simply swipe more on the lighter shade and you are good to go! If you are looking to add some depth and definition, you can swipe more on the deeper shade and use it directly under your cheekbones as a contour powder. If you are like me, you can also get the best of both worlds and swipe a bit of both shades for a subtle and lovely flushed look.
One thing that I wish they would have included was a small applicator for the blush. Because the packaging is so small and portable, you would expect the blush to come with a small applicator for on-the-go application or routine touch ups throughout the day. I like to keep makeup in my purse for touch ups, but found that I left this at home because I did not want to bring a full-sized blush brush with me all day long.
Nonetheless, even though they go for $42.00 each on Sephora.com, I definitely think these blushed are worth every penny simply because they are so pigmented and easy to work with. However, I do highly suggest looking up reviews in order to see how each shade looks on real people so that you can make a great decision on which shade you decide to buy because they only have 5 shades to choose from. Here is a closeup of how the blush turned out! It is definitely subtle, but it is also buildable.
Again, I received all the items complimentary from Influenster for reviewing purposes, but these are my honest opinions.
With love,
Alyssa
